Real Estate Matters with Tim Bro
Good news for homeowners: Prices are still going up, just at a slower pace. The median home price in San Diego County is $542,000, an increase of 2.5 percent in one year. The real estate market is not experiencing a bubble, just normal market adjustments. The problem is not a lack of demand, just single family home prices may be out of the reach of first time buyers. They are in the market for condos and townhomes. In the future they will move up to single family homes. The Fed may be engineering a soft landing by taking a breather in easing monetary policy. Interest rates are back to where they were last August – around 4.5% for a 30 year fixed conventional loan.
